Genting Malaysia Bhd said Resorts World Genting (RWG) and Resorts World Awana resumed business at 6pm today, after the group temporarily suspended operations at the resorts following the implementation of the Movement Control Order from Jan 22 to Feb 4.
However, its Resorts World Kijal and Resorts World Langkawi will only resume operations on Feb 19.
In a notice on the RWG website, the group said RWG has resumed operations with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place.
“Some of our hotels, facilities, attractions and other offerings will be subjected to revised operating hours, limited availability or temporary closure.
“We will continue to fully adhere to the strict SOPs issued by the government throughout the resort and we seek our guests’ cooperation to do the same. The safety and health of all our guests and employees remain our utmost priority,” the notice said.
Separately, Genting Malaysia said Resorts World Birmingham (RWB) and all other land-based casinos in the UK remain temporarily closed until further notice.
RWB and the other land-based casinos in the UK have been closed since Dec 30, 2020.
Genting Malaysia rose seven sen or 2.55% to close at RM2.82, giving a market capitalisation of RM16.8 billion.
